An “Accessible History Book” in the form of three circular routes makes possible to learn about the history by walking.

AnThe historic development of this region is illustrated on more than 80 locations. You can learn the historic, geologic, and the topographic features by text boards and plates and by REPRODUCTIONS OF HISTORIC LOCATIONS. IN THIS MANNER ALSO THE CHILDREN HAVE MUCH FUN BY HIKING.

RITTER GERIN-TRAIL

At one time, creepy things happened in Palatinate.

On Ritter Gerin-Trail you can learn, how people did live here in former times.

The hiking trail with a length of 2,7 kilometers leads to the footprints of knight Gerin alongside an imitation of medieval gallows, an execution place and farther to a pillory near Schönenberg-Kübelberg. The trail goes along lake Ohmbach, which invites you to a ride in a pedalo or to a little snack, to the sinuosity of creek “Glan”, and then to the “Kühnerbachtal” (valley Kühnerbach).

HIKING-TRAIL “LAND OF CHERRIES” This is a circular route of a length of about 20 kilometers with considerable mixed orchard plants. In April/May you can admire a wonderful nature spectacle, if thousand of cherry trees are in full blossom. Along different ponds and wells you will have a beautiful look into the “Westricher Highland” from a tower.

DIAMONDS’ POLISHER HIKING-TRAIL

On this circular route of a length of 18 kilometers you will be able to follow the trace of the precious stones. In the small village “Brücken” you have the opportunity to visit the Diamonds’ Polisher-Museum and to watch the work of a polisher.

CIRCULAR ROUTE AT LAKE OHMBACH

Around lake Ohmbach there is a 3 kilometer-circular-route without any obstacle. It is optimally suitable for parents with buggies.

NORDIC-WALKING-COURSE “HIGHLAND OF PALATINATE”

Nine courses with different levels of difficulty and different lengths lead you through the scenic landscape of the “Kuseler Musikantenland”. The “trip of lake Ohmbach” with a length of 4,4 kilometers starts directly from the location “Gries”. It is possible to extend this trip.

GLAN-BLIES-TRAIL

From lake Ohmbach you reach directly the Glan-Blies-Trail. This is a way for bikers and hikers, which leads from Glan-Münchweiler to Saargemünd in France.
